Progress Toward Our Better Days Promise
The chart below reports our progress from 2015 through year-end 2021 towards our global Better Days Promise to advance sustainable and equitable access to food by addressing the intersection of wellbeing, hunger, sustainability and equity, diversity and inclusion for 3 billion people by the end of 2030.
All commitments are global and conclude at the end of 2030, with a 2015 baseline, unless otherwise noted. |Wellbeing||Nourish 1 billion people with our foods by the end of 2030.||Since 2015, we’ve nourished over 800 million people with our foods around the world.|
|Hunger||Feed 375 million people in need by the end of 2030.||Since 2015, we’ve fed over 219 million facing hunger or crisis with food donations around the world.
Of this, we’ve reached over 4.3 million kids through feeding programs around the world.
|Sustainability||Nurture people and planet, including support for 1 million farmers and agronomists, including women and smallholders, by the end of 2030.||Since 2015, we’ve supported more than 445,000 farmers and agronomists, including 37,000 smallholders, 15,000 women and 2,500 agronomists.|
|Reduce absolute Scope 1 & 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 45% by the end of 2030.||Since 2015, we’ve reduced absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 29%.|
|Partner across our value chain to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 15% by the end of 2030.||Scope 3 results are in progress and will be released by mid-August.|
|Achieve 100% renewable electricity in all global Kellogg manufacturing facilities by the end of 2050.||In 2021, we achieved 29% of the electricity used from renewable sources.|
|Reduce water use in global Kellogg manufacturing facilities in high water stress regions by 30% by the end of 2030.||Since 2015, we’ve reduced water use by 24% in high stress regions.|
|Achieve 100% reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging (by volume) by the end of 2025.||In 2021, 76% of our packaging is reusable, recyclable or compostable (at scale).|
|Reduce food waste across our global Kellogg manufacturing facilities by 50% by the end of 2030.||Since 2015, we’ve reduced food waste by 23%.|
|Equity, Diversity and Inclusion||Ensure equity, diversity and inclusion in our own workforce. This includes our aspirational goals of gender 50/50 parity at the management level by the end of 2025 and 25% underrepresented talent at the management level by the end of 2025.||In 2021, 44.4% of management roles globally were filled by women.
In 2021, 22.2% of management roles in the US were filled by underrepresented talent.
|People||Engage 1.5 billion people in advocating for sustainable and equitable access to food by the end of 2030.||Since 2015, Kellogg employees have volunteered over 106,000 hours in our communities around the world.|
